AlleyTrak version 5.148.0 Introduces a New GTM/GA4 Begin Checkout Event, New Role Management for Issuing Refunds, Reporting Enhancements, Inrange Real-Time PIN Code Generation, and More!
New GTM/GA4 “Begin Checkout” Event
We've added a new Google Tag Manager event "Begin Checkout". This event will be fed into your Google analytics account and help by providing you insight on customers and their journey through the checkout experience. The “Begin Checkout” event tells us when a customer has started the process of booking an event after defining the event details, like guest count, party size, event date and time. At this point in the booking workflow, the customer has been presented an order total for their event.
When comparing this event against the purchase event, You will be able to track and monitor conversion For customers that ultimately complete their booking versus those that failed to complete their booking.
One important thing to note with this “Begin Checkout” event is that there is a possibility for duplicate events during a single checkout experience. For example, a customer might start the booking process, select their date and time and the “Begin Checkout” event is triggered. The customer could then go back and change their date and time, and proceed to check out, resulting in another “Begin Checkout” event being fired.
New Role Management for Issuing Refunds
We've added a new application setting that allows facility managers to control what level users can't issue refunds. Historically, and by default, refunds are limited to administrator only level users. However, Facilities can now control if they want to enable Application Editors, and Reservation Editors to have the ability to issue refunds.
Reporting Enhancements
We've added two new notable feature enhancements to reporting in AlleyTrak.
You can now generate reports for all locations/activities from a single report. Previously, this was limited to a single location/activity per report generation.
Transaction reports now support the ability to filter your report based on AlleyTrak connected gateway transactions, or all transactions, including external payments.
Inrange Real-Time PIN Code Generation
We've added new functionality to our Inrange PIN Code generation service that allows us to generate pin codes that are available for immediate use. Previously, PIN code generated would be available for use for the next time increment. This would often cause a short delay before the customer could enter the code to open up the bay.
For example, a customer could walk into the facility, scan to book an in-bay event at 4:05 PM, and the pin code would not have been available for use until 4:15 PM. This is because the time increment setting for the facility is in quarter hours, Meaning the event is expected to start at 4:15 PM.
Our new real-time PIN Code generation improves this user experience, by generating the PIN code for a start time matching the current time, enabling the customer to start their event right away.
This real-time pin code generation applies to in-bay bookings, and for events created by administrators like walk-in events.
Other Updates
We've Updated the admin notification email for new bookings To provide you with additional clarification on who created the event. The messaging will now describe if the event was created by a customer or administrator. The messaging will now also describe if the event was newly created or one being modified by an administrator.
We've enhanced the customer event date picker to take into account facility wide, custom hours that mark the facility as closed. This will now properly update in the calendar user-interface to show that date as non-selectable.
We've modified the AlleyTrak admin panel menu bar, to provide a better mobile experience. This was built out as we are adding new controls to the menu bar.
We've resolved the bug with the Steltronic Integration, That was impacting reservations with an order total greater than $1000. This update will ensure that these large events are successfully synced into the Steltronic system
